The integrated alternate traction ratchet allows the operator to pull one leg at a time with each stroke of the handle. This alternating “wriggling” action closely mimics natural movement and can significantly ease delivery during challenging calvings. This version is supplied exclusively with the alternative traction ratchet, which offers greater pulling power than the standard model.
Stable & Secure in All Positions
The calving jack is designed to remain securely attached to the cow whether she is standing, lying down or changes position during the procedure. The permanently fitted holding frame locates over the cow’s hip bones, creating a stable and fixed base. This allows the jack to tilt and pull effectively regardless of whether the cow stands, sits or stretches out mid-calving.
